"It was easy because you stopped the lanes of traffic," Dakota replied, rolling her eyes. "The real fun in it is dodging the cars," she stated with a grin before turning towards the fence. "Anyways," she mumbled, pulling up a free section of the chainlink and scuttling easily under, "Let's keep going. Watch out for ticks."
"Ha! I KNEW it!" Kale stated with a grin, before hearing her watch go off. "Crap... I have to run now. I'm going to be late. You should take him out for dinner or something, and tell him," she gave Des a quick hug before turning and running off. "See you later, Des! I'll call and tell him to meet you back at your place, kay?"

Des took a deep breath and nodded. "Alright, have fun tonight!" She smiled at Kale, waving her as Des zoomed off ... then disappeared as she was nearly hit by a car.
Harle shrugged and smiled. "Well, it was still fun." She said casually.

"Meh. By the way, watch out where you're going. You never know what might be lurking around out here." "Learned that one the hard way," Vinny muttered, fingering a light scar along his arm and showing it off to Harle. "Plenty of cazy folk lurking around that'll rob ya blind." "Or worse," Dakota piped up, smirking slightly.

Harle raised an eyebrow. "Alright... I'll just stick close to you then." She said, smiling simply and taking a hold of Dakota's wrist.

Dakota wrapped her spindly fingers around Harle's hand - still allowing her to cling to her wrist but with a little added coverage. They shifted through the tall grasses for a good twenty minutes before reaching the small suburbian area on the far side of the feild. There seemed one final obstacle in their way - a simple wooden fence.

"Well, this is sort of anti climatic.." Harle said, tilting her head slightly and taking Dakota's hand so lessen the discomfort. "Or... is there something odd about the fence? Does it grow or soemthing?"

"Nope. Just a fence. It's more or less the other side of the fence you have to worry about," Dakota mumbled, watching as Vinny hoisted himself over the top of the fence, remaining in his position - hanging half-way over - and looking around. "You see, Tinsel Theif likes to rig the backyard with boobytraps in her spare time, as she really doesn't have much else to do. Especially since she's rarely awake during the day time."
"I think it's safe to go over," Vinny called back, beginning to pull himself over the fence, but paused and turned back. "If there seems to be a struggle, please come and save me. You never know what kinda of crazy animals that thing brings home with it."

Harle raised an eyebrow, her ears pricking up in worry and her tail going down. "Alright...." She muttered, nodding. She approached the fence carefully and hoisted herself up, looking over the fence.

Vinny dissapeared over the other side, and there was a yelp followed by a thud. Dakota hopped up and peered over the fence, smirking down at him. "Weak knees?" "Weak knees," he grumbled in reply, peeling his face off the soft grass and rubbing his nose. "Ow." It was strange. The grass on the other side of the fence seemed perfect - the perfect color, the perfect height, feel. Dakota hopped fully over the fence, motioning for Harle to follow. "Check yourself for ticks at the door."

Harle blinked at the lawn, hopping over the fence with ease. "This lawn is... spotless." She said, almost in aww. She looked down at Vinny and blinked. "You need some help there?" she asked, smiling and holding out a hand to him.

"No. I'm good. You go inside." He stated, waving his hand at her. "Yeah. This is South's house. Alot of the outside is perfect. Hell, the inside is pretty perfect. Things fix themselves when they break." Dakota briefly looked herself over before opening the slider and stepping into the well lit, mansion styled kitchen. It was large, spacious, and had an island with a number of stools around it poised in the middle with hanging pots and pans above it. "Well, here we are."

"Oh, cool!" Harle said, after leaving Vinny where he was. She looked around and lightly touched the wall, unbelieving how clean it was. "How... how did he accuire such a house?"

"Inheritance. South's got alot of money. But, with the lot of us living here, I'm pretty sure he's running low on what his parents left him and his brother." Dakota muttered, picking up a piece of fruit from a bowl on the counter and taking a bite out of it. Promptly she seemed to choke and spit it out on the floor, gagging slightly. "Oh, gross! Wax fruit?!"
"Yes, wax fruit," a voice replied from the door way, a not-so-happy-looking man of thirty or so stated as he placed one balled hand on his hip. "And did you have to spit it on the FLOOR? I just finished mopping it, and we do have a trash in this house you know."

Harle began to laugh when she saw her cousin bite into wax fruit, but as she turned to see who the voice was, she promptly stopped and blinked, staring for a moment. She knew what trouble was, and she just stepped back from the mess and watched the two of them, laughing in her mind at Dakota. ~Is this South?~ she wondered, looking at the older man.

"Why would you put wax fruit where you normally put real fruit?!" Dakota retorted, glaring at the man. "Just to be cruel and unusual," he assured, rolling his eyes and walking over to them. Looking at Dakota he gave a small smile, holding his hand out to her and apparently forgetting Dakota was even there for the moment. "Hello. My name's South. I'm guessing your, unfortunatley, acquianted with Dakota?"

"No, even worse - I'm her cousin." Harle smiled charmingly, like a nice lady would, and nodded. "Her father's sister's daughter." She shook his hand, and laughing gently at the joke she just made. "No, seriously I love my family - no matter how cooky they are." She smiled at Dakota, and stuck out her toungue.

Dakota glared coldly back at Harle, crossing her arms. "I'm sorry for that, then," South replied, smiling and letting her hand go. "Let me guess, you're going to be staying with us?"

"Only if you'd allow me to, sir." Harle said, smiling at him. "See, I want to experience different people, new things outside my own house walls. She blinked, and was startled. "Oh! I didn't tell you my name! I'm sorry." She smiled. "I'm Harlequine."

"Well, welcome Harlequine. You can stay as long as you like," South replied, waving his hand dissmissivly. "We have quite a few odd characters living here, trust me you'll probably experience plenty of weirdos. " He sighed, shaking his head. "If any of them bothers you, you can just tell Dakota. She'll beat them into a pulp for you, no problem."

"Oh, I assumed so already. She gets it from our grandmother, really." Harle said, nodding. "Our family has a... history, would you call it, Dakota?" She asked, looking to Dakota to help explain the family.
