"No kidding," Despreaux shook her head, her four wings suddenly erect and towering over her. She closed her eyes, "Take a look.. I've been trying some magic from the Western tribes," She told him, seeming to concentrate. Her wings grew smaller, seeming to shrink then just slid into her back. "It kinda hurts," She muttered, rubbing her shoulders.

Fissure seemed rather impressed, his eyes widening slightly. "Wow. Very very nice. I can see why that would hurt." He paused, fiddling with a single dark ruby colored feather. "I...haven't tried that in a while."

"I wouldn't suggest you do," Despereaux said, still flinching from pain. "Unless you excorsize and ease into it, to get used to the pain, y'know?" She asked, rubbing her shoulders but to no avail. Looking a little aggravated, she remembered how her father or Amos - hard to tell those to shits apart - used to mesage her shoulders to calm her down or to ease tension.

"No, I wouldn't have thought of it in the first place. Mine tend to not get in the way," he mumbled with a smile. "Would you like help with that?" Fissure questioned, holding up a forefinger and casting a glance towards her shoulders.

"Yeah, my wings get in the way a LOT.. seeing that there's four of them," Despereaux sighed, not wanting to repeat that story. She blinked, looking to him, confused. "With what?" She asked, tilting her head then remembered her hand on her shoulder. "Oh! If you want to.." She shrugged.

"Well-a...well...well well, if you don't want me to," Fissure wrinkled his nose at the realization of how badly he had just stuttered. That happened from time to time, yes. But it usually kicked in at the wrong second. "As long as you don't mind, I really don't."

Despereaux smiled, sitting in a chair and waving him to her. "Nah, c'mon." she said, not wanting him to be nervous around her at all. "It's better if you get close to me, so you won't be so nervous. Thus, you'll know my boundaries," Despereaux nodded.

Fissure smiled softly and nodded, walking around to the back of the chair. Placing his hands on her shoulders, he gently began to massage them - trying his best to ease away the soreness. "I get what you mean. Sorry if I seem like a nervous wreck, I've been in a bit of seclusion for a while."

"Seclusion? What do you mean?" Despereaux asked, eyes closed and just relaxing. Her head went slightly foreward, her body swaying to his movements and in all honesty, she liked it. A small smile spread accross her face, and a shiver ran down her spine.

"Oh, I don't get to see people alot. Not many people other than folks I knew wandered through my neck of the woods." Fissure responded with a smile, continuing to massage her shoulders. "And even so, I don't know many people. Therefore, I was in semi-seclusion. Though I suppose if I hadn't been so lazy I could have gone out and met people. Either way, it is what it is."

"Oh, so you're a hermit like I am, eh?" Desper asked, chuckling. "Except I live in the middle of a desert in Egypt... at least, that's where my castle is..." Despereaux was thinking a lot about telling that story about her four wings, like it was haunting her, thus why her voice sort of wavered off at the end. Her body kinda went limp, relaxing under his fingers and palms.

Fissure watched her relax with a smile, holding back the chuckle playing up in his throat. "Mmm, somewhat of one, I guess. Save for the fact I don't get to live in castle."

Despereaux shook her head almost sleepily. "No.. After a while, living in that damned place, it gets lonely," Despereaux said, still smiling. A troubled smile, though, as if thinking. The thoughts on her wings wouldn't go away and her shoulders tensed up just the tiniest bit. "Hey, Fissure?" She asked, waiting for his response.

"MmmmmHmmm?" He blinked a few times, glancing down at her. "Yes? What is it? Is something the matter?"

"Well, I began something and I didn't finish it," Despereaux told him, and took a deep sigh. "Do you know the legends of having four wings?" She asked curiously. "Veterans of the old wars had them when they came home, remember? Remember how they got the extra set of wings?" Desper looked up at him, tilting her head back.

"Hmmm...." Fissure pressed a finger to his lips, tapping it gently for a momment. "Yes, I do seem to recall that. So, what about it?" He questioned, looking down at her.

"Well, it's kind of a long story so..." Despereaux put a hand on both of his and began the story with her mother declaring Desper's betrothal to a knight. She carried on with the story, on how after she'd declined rather rudely, he had chased after her and nearly cut off her wings, her life force. But thanks to a stub of bone on either side, the lower wings regenerated. "Then after a long time, my origianal wings grew back... but I had to kill the knight, obviously because all curses go that way," She rolled her eyes then half smiled at him. "That's why I have four wings.

Fissure paused a momment, seeming to slowly absorb everything that had been said. "...Interesting. Definatley interesting. Wish I had stories to share, but other than being jumped by a pack of foxes this morning, nothing else interesting has happened to me in years." He paused again, then began to laugh. "Save this perdicament, of course."

Despereaux chuckled, and nodded. "Yes, I'd have to say that this perdicament would count," Despereaux stood up, and motioned to the couch. "Need to sit? You've been standing an awfully long time," She said, sitting on the cushiony couch herself.

"Sure, why not?" He questioned with a smile, heading over and seating himself beside her. "Yes, well. I never in my life expected to be jumped by a bunch of foxes. A rather shocking experience, as they were all a four of my height and barley 90 pounds each."
