"It's ok. Don't try to explain yourself." Robin said, shaking his head.

"Just...please. Don't act so sad." Kale looked up at him sadly. "I just want to see you happy."

Robin chuckled. "Yeah, I have a lot of reasons to be this way. Putting up this wall of joy and gentleness when all I am is a monster...." He muttered, glowering out the window. "It's just sad that I can't show who I am unless I'm about to kill my distant cousin or... Despereaux." He hung his head. "I'm just glad that I can focus my energy and time onto you and your kids, Kale. Besides loving you, that's why I came back that second time... I needed to distract myself from, well, myself. Do you understand?" Robin looked at her, looking a bit concerned, worried that she'd not understand fully.

Kale brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, looking up at him, trying to decipher what he had said. "I...I understand," she said, nodding her head. "I understand what you mean. You just...needed to focus on something else for a while..." Kale's own head was hung slightly now, ears pressed back. "I just....don't understand why you can't be yourself...why do you have to act differently?"

"Because that would endanger Des' life. And Despereaux's. And Des' kids." Robin sighed, shaking his head. He glared out the window, gently continuing, "Not to mention you and your little ones as well as everyone else because I AM a Demon Hunter." He paused. "I have the mark upon my arm, the tatu that signals me as a Hunter, even though I am a demon." He said, pointing to the tatu of a sunset on his arm. "The sunset, believe it or not, symbolizes death. An ending to daylight."

Kale stared at the tattoo, seemingly lost in thought. "But I...why..." Kale couldn't help her reaction of stepping away, though as soon as she did she regretted the action. "Then why did you come back if you knew you'd have to act unlike yourself. If you knew you'd put us all in danger? I mean, won't they know eventually? That you're technically married to a demon and not doing your job. Don't you think that will get them, oh, I don't know, a little MAD?" She now could not help the slight snap in her voice, after all she was worried; not just for herslf and her little ones, but for Robin as well.

"Oh, they know. They've known all along." Robin said, sort of glad Kale had stepped away. "See, they don't care if I'm married to YOU. You hold no threat against them. You haven't done anything wrong and besides," Robin shrugged. "You're not a pure blood. You're both Lycan AND Vampire, and that's different from the pure bloodest Des we know. See, the human within her died. At least the blood of the human did. She still says that she has a bit of human in her... but it's gone. Long gone." Robin went on to explain, "Because human blood doesn't last long, which is partially why it's so addicting. You can drink as much of it as you want, but it will soon just evaporate into nothing and you'll desire more. Not to mention that it's delicious." Robin looked quizzically at her. "I'm not sure if it's the same thing for vampires, but for bird deamons of prey, the theory applies."
Robin sighed, "I got off topic. Anyway, the thing is that she is pure blooded, and that's why they want her. They go for anyone with pure blood." Robin looked into Kale's eyes, sadly. "See, the only way you and your kin would be in danger is if you'd try to stop us. So far, you're stopping me, and I'm grateful but they don't like it. They're only annoyed, though. Basically, they don't care if I kill her or not. They can come fight their own battle, is what I told them the last time I saw..." Robin paused, about to give a name but stopped and quickly said, "... them."

The look in her eyes as he finished was nothing less than suspicious; but she didn't press on. Kale simply sighed, and stepped foreward again, resting her hand on his arm. Kale glanced off to the side, seeming to think a momment. "I...see..." She looked up at him, her own eyes sad. "Then...I'll keep out of the way. But please," she muttered. hugging him tightly. "Just, whatever you do, don't get hurt. I couldn't stand to lose you too. I've already lost..." she paused, stopping herself as tears came rushing to her eyes, "enough people..." Then she paused, seeming to think things over. "And, yes. It's the same for vampires. THey can only survive off of human blood; and animal blood but it doesn't satisfy the thirst as much." The look in her eyes now seemed a little lost; as if she weren't really there anymore. Like she was zoning out and thinking about something completley different now.
