An old truck sat in the middle of the tall grass fields, long from fixing up or cleaning up for that matter. Teens had come by with their spray paint and their keys, scratching up and torturing the ar that they'd try to steal then damned by kicking and humiliating the paint that was once so neat and damaging the engine even more that had been so neat and full of life. But no, the truck was far from life now. It looked dead, its headlights bashed in and the grill all rusted and also smashed in by a bat in the previous year. The red paint wasn't as shiny as it had been. The wheels were all deflated. IT was a horrible sight to behold.
Speaking of sites to behold, a Fox Demon lingered nearby, her booted feet making deep imprints of themselves in the dirt and crunching that tall grass down, just wandering. The girl was tired, weaving in and out of conciousness. A loud growl that sounded like a cat purring loudly was heard, signalling a tummy that was mad hungry. The girl had long hair that was tied back in a braid. It was black with two thick red streaks. Her eyes, if you could see them, were a magenta color, contrasting with her camoflauge coat, hat, and jacket. An army girl, t'was she. But this little army girl, though haven't aged a day in two years, looked horrible. Worse than the car. She'd been in fights with other demons, she'd gotten weak and skinnier and the damn teenagers had taken away her firearms, leaving her with barely any knowledge on how to use her animal instincts since she'd been with guns all her life.
Two years had turned her into this... and then she saw the old truck. She wasn't surprised, and climbed into the trunk again like old times. It was wet with rain water from the previous day but the puddle that had been left was down at the lower part where someone had stolen her back tire. So the girl crawled into the trunk, up on the higher elevation, curling up like she used to. Slowly, she closed her eyes, willing death upon herself. Either death or salvation.

"Get up." A slightly muffled voice ordered the girl. Glaring down at her from behind a pair of one-way dark glasses, the man was pointing a pump-action shotgun at her. However, he wasn't holding the shotgun. He was handing it to her. His black hair was unbrushed, and his face was obscured by a black scarf.
In his other hand was a double barrelled shotgun, which had the barrels snapped down. It was clear that he didn't intend her any harm. The rest of him was hidden by a black cloak. After a few seconds, he grew impatient. "Take the damn gun. What the heck are you playing at? You're acting like a goddamn civilian!"

Magenta eyes fluttered open. "I've no energy..." the girl said weakly but reached for the gun anyway. Guns had always given her comfort for some reason. All technology had for the past three years or so. She had a guess why they had but she couldn't remember his name, just his face. She tried to move to sit up but just fell over, shaking her head. "I've no energy soldier..." she said hoarsely, but still had a hand on the gun for comfort.

The man pulled out a green vial, with a syringe already inside it. Drawing up about 1000 ml of fluid, he checked the needle, and then plunged it into the girl's arm without a word, injecting the whole fluid in one shot. "It's mostly protein and sugars. Should be enough to get you up on your feet." He told her, tossing the vial and syringe aside.

Daray had flinched slightly as the needle was shot into her arm. She got this tingly feeling in her arm that spread throughout her body. Blinking, she realized that it was like waking up from a sleep, her vision clearing and her body restoring energy but slowly. When she could, Daray slowly sat up, looking around and at the man. "Who.. who are you?" she asked, furrowing her brow, confused. Who in the world would just come and get her back to almost health?

The man paused. "Call me Byrd." He told her, snapping up the barrels on the shotgun. He looked around, scratching his head, before shouldering the shotgun. "Unless you want to be back on the floor soon, you'll get going. There's some pretty wild werewolves around here, and I only managed to wound them. Now they're pissed."

Daray's eyes widened for a moment, raising an eyebrow. "You don't mean Jill, do you?" She asked, blinking. "Or just some of the natives around here?" she asked, leaning against her hand. "If it's the natives, there's an easy way of defeating them and they won't hurt me, I've no beef with them. I can handle them without guns but.. thanks..."

Byrd raised an eyebrow, shrugging. "If Jill or the natives have bright red eyes and a pair of 15 foot wings, then that's them." He raised the shotgun, peering down the sights. "Make sure every shot counts."

Daray blinked, looking around. "This doesn't sound like the native lycans," she told him, glaring around, standing. "Where did you see them last, cadette?" she asked, now getting down on one knee, cocking the shotgun and also peering down the sights.

Byrd glared down at Daray from behind his glasses. "Try 'Sergeant' and you'll be a bit closer." He told her. "Over there. About 300 metres that way." He said, pointing towards a forest.

Daray looked skeptically at Byrd and returned the glare. "Fine Sergeant," she said mockingly, hopping out of the way back of her truck, onto the grass. OR shall I say into the grass since it was half her hight? She followed the direction he was pointing, walking with her gun resting on her shoulder but she wasn't aiming. Just casually walking, waiting.

Byrd raised an eyebrow, looking around. He looked at Daray, then looked past her, turning his gun so pointed at her. "If you want to keep all your organs intact, get down, and shut up." He told her. "And hurry."

Daray stopped short, feeling his aim right at her. Calculations accured in her mind. IT didn't make sense that he'd be wanting to kill her when he'd just saved her life. She'd been planning on just using herself as bait so he'd get a clear shot and she'd be able to defend herself against whatever creature popped out but this was fine. It was true that Daray never really cared for her own health but after this devastating event, she obeyed orders of this 'sergeant' and disappeared in the grass.
Daray, being the little fox demon that she was, didn't make a sound or trembled the grasses as she made a figure eight, a loop and a full circle to get back towards her truck. She crawled under the truck, the gun barrel aimed out. Though she couldn't see, she could smell and hear and taste the air around her. she was right below Byrd, though never made a hint that she'd be there or was there. If this guy was really good, he would've known she was there nonetheless but then again, Daray didn't think he would know about the army she was from at all. He looked human to her.

Byrd snapped the barrels of his shotgun down, checked the shells quickly, and just as quickly snapped it back together. Walking past Daray, he aimed into the grass, squeezing both triggers. A cloud of purple blood splattered from nowhere, covering the grass, some of it splattering on Daray's truck. "You can get out now. I got the bastard."

Daray blinked, crawling on her stomach to get out from under her truck. "So.. your name is Byrd?" she asked, only looking at him with on eye as she pushed hair out of her face, a strand seemingly have gotten into her eye as she crawled out. "Where do ya come from Byrd?' Daray asked casually, jumping up and sitting on the roof of her truck. The blood was nothing to her now, seeing that her car was tottalled anyway.

Byrd snapped his shotgun, removing the still-smoking shells. "None of your goddamn business." He replied simply, shoving in a pair of new shells. "There's more of them." Byrd told her. "Unless you've got some more rounds for that thing, I'd get running." He said, motioning to Daray's shotgun.

"Don't you try and play the hero here, bud!" Daray snapped, growling at him. "You're one of those guys that thinks that just because I'm a female, I can't even shoot a gun, right?" she asked but it was more of a statement. "I'm not going anywhere as long as I have my dear hemmer!!" She snapped at him again, opening the door which fell on the ground. She reached in, unlactched the back seat, revealing a secret compartment. There she pulled out what she had thought to be lost: Her Hemmingway. The Hemmingway was a gun that Daray had fashioned herself, and a vile of her blood was still in the compartment.
((Remember that other rp we had? That gun she later called it The HEmmingway or Hemmer))

((It's "Vial". "Vile" is an adjective, "Vial" is the noun form. ... *puts away Grammar Nazi uniform*))
Byrd raised an eyebrow. "Uh-huh. And you think that'll do the job?" He pulled a shell out of his pocket. "This ain't any normal shell, y'know. It's part Aluminium Oxide, Part Zinc Sulphate, Part Magnesium Oxide, and part Thermite." He shrugged and shook his head. "And don't say you've got some, because you can't buy them anywhere. I know - I've tried."

((... I'm tired... x.x That's my excuse...))
"How's pure Demon killing antidote and my energy to boot sound to you?" Daray asked, aiming at his face. She smirked, pulled away her other arm which it seemed as if a mortal would need to hold it with two hands, aimed it to her right and pulled her trigger. A ball of blue and purple lightning and goo shot out at a werewolf that was about to take off, hitting it dead center. The werewolf disintegrated on contact, turning into dust. No blood was shed, just a little explosion of particles of the body.

Byrd shook his head. "It'd be good - if that had been one of the ones I killed. All you did was kill a plain ol' werewolf. Doesn't take too much to bring them down. Not compared to the ones I've been fighting, anyway."
