Tenos shrugged. "Don't worry about it. Given the circumstances, you're more than allowed to not worry what you look like."
Xenon was in the living room, just sitting on the couch. She looked across at Daray. "Hey Mom. Cobalt's not in at the moment." She stood, stretching, her tail bristling up a little as she did so. "What's the matter?"

"I'll explain when we find your sister and get back to my apartment." Daray told her quickly and grabbed her wrist, tugging her up. "C'mon."
Pitter giggled and shook her head. "I guess it's a girl thing, then." She said, shrugging.

Xenon blinked, and followed her, rather than being dragged. "You won't find her - she's in town somewhere. She was gone when I woke up - and all the note said was she was going into town."
Tenos shrugged. "Maybe." He shrugged. "Or maybe you're just making a fuss over nothing."

"Do you really think so?" Pitter asked him honestly, tilting her head to the side. "That if a girl dresses herself up, it's just a fuss over nothing?" She asked him. She wasn't upset, but curious.
Daray stopped in the hall and kicked the wall. "Damnit. I'll just have to .... I don't know. Do I HAVE to go into town?" Daray asked Xenon.

Tenos shrugged. "Honestly? Yes. I mean, if it's something permanent, then that makes sense sometimes - like if people have surgery to fix a really ugly nose or something. But otherwise, yes. I mean, what's the point if it wears off in a few hours?"
Xenon folded her arms. "I don't know. What do you need her for?"

"To make myself presentable and not tottally.. plain." Pitter told him, looking at the floor. "When I meet the guy of my dreams, I don't want to look plain. I want him to remember what I look like, how my eyes can be accented and how beautiful I can be." Pitter sighed, but smiled gently. "So I've been waiting for him."

Tenos blinked, and tilted his head. "You're waiting for him? So he's late? That's pretty poor - you should chop his hand off or something when he gets here."

Pitter looked at Tenos for a moment, then burst into laughter. "Oh, Tenos. You're so cute!" She said and siighed. "No, my dreamboy isn't late. I haven't met him yet, I don't think." Pitter relaxed against the couch and looked up at the ceiling. "I want to meet a man one day and fall in love." She sighed, but smiled. "Someday maybe even get married, have kids - the normal mortal life, y'know?"
Daray paused. "Sarge told me to get her. Your half siblings are in trouble." Daray told her. "They are both going to die within three days if we do NOT find the man who stole my charms."

Tenos shrugged. "Sorry, but I don't really know. As far as I'm concerned, a normal life involves work until a war of some description breaks out, at which point I proceed to go to the war and kill as many as I can without getting killed myself. If I survive, I get to go back to work." He said, as though it was perfectly normal.
Xenon's eyes widened as she heard this. "Hold on a second." She dashed into her room, and as she came out, about fifty small robots were following her. Each about the size of her hand, hexagon-shaped, with a leg coming out of each side. "I've programmed these to find Cobalt and give her the message." She explained. "They're fast, so we're talking about ten minutes until they find her, even in this city." She explained, as the robots went scuttling away into cracks and holes in the walls and floors.
