The morning was relativley cool, especially down by the waters. The sound of laughter could be heard, relativley shrill and young laughter. The small girl was grinning at the water, watching the waves rush up along the moist sand. Each time the water drew too close, she'd attempt to jump back - which was in vain. For each time the chilly water rushed over her bare feet, causing the girl to shriek with laughter.
Dylindra watched the antics of her daughter, chuckling softly to herself. All together, though, she seemed pretty down - watching the water with sad, dark eyes. With a sigh, she brushed away a lock of her hair, playing with it mommentarily before allowing it to fall away from her line of vision. The day was already boasting signs of beauty, promising to be a lovely day. If only she'd been in the mood for such a day as this.
Though considering the weather, today would have and should have been a wonderous day, Dylindra knew otherwise. With another sigh, she watched as a wave came rushing up from the deeper waters - this time soaking the little girl up to her waist. Shaking her head, Dylindra once again allowed a chuckle to escape her, a tiny smile trying to force its way onto her face.

A man popped out from under the next wave, picking up the little girl and spinning around. "Hey you!" Fluke yelled and gave his little girl kisses all over her cheeks, resting her on his hip and carrying her away from the water. HE was grinning and only wearing a pair of swimming trunks. He smiled at Dylindra and shook his head. "Y'know what?" Fluke told the little girl. "I think mumma needs a big wet kiss from her favorite daughter to cheer her up!" he told her and set the little girl down.

The girl shrieked when Fluke had picked her up, though said shriek had faded into giggles at the kisses he gave her. Upon being set down, the girl ran to Dylindra and threw her arms around her mother. "Mumma!!" This being said, the child kissed her mother on the cheek - and at that Dylindra couldn't help but smile.
"Hey, my baby," she said, picking the girl up and placing her in her lap. "What's happening?"

Fluke, all wet walked up to Dylindra and smiled down at her and his child. "Huh. Like mother like child, I say," he said, smirking and ruflfing his kid's hair. "We love you," he told her and sat down opposite him so that the ocean was behind him.

"Mmmhmmm." Dylindra responded, as if backing up Fluke's statement. Sweetly, she rubbed her nose against her daughter's, causing the girl to giggle once more. All in all, she seemed a bouncing bubble of joy - which caused Dylindra to sigh once more.
Dejected, the little girl turned her attention to Fluke. "Daddy, I think Mumma's broken."

"Dylindra, the letter was sent a while ago, I presume?" he asked for like the umpteenth time. He had this hidden silence and sadness in his eyes but he kept it well hidden from his daughter. He always asked, everyday if the letter had been sent beause he wanted to know when the last moments with his daughter would be.

Dylindra looked to him, furrowing her brow. She then sighed, nodding her head gently.
"What letter?" The little girl questioned, perking up slightly. "Who's it from? When'd ya get it? Where'd it come from? Why'd you get a letter-..." the child continued on with these mindless questions, soon digressing from the topic of a letter being present at all.

"Oh little one, it doesn't matter," Fluke told her, picking her up and setting her on his lap. "Let's just enjoy the day, alright?" He tickled his daughter and grinned. "Quick! Run! I'm going to get you and tickle you!" he said teasingly, flexing his fingers at her sides threateningly.

The girl squealed, leaning away from Fluke and actually falling off his lap. Upon hitting the sand, she quickly sat up and shook sand from her pale blue hair - making a noise similar to some cartoon character. Hopping to her feet, she stuck her tounge out at Fluke. "Betcha can't catch me!"

"Oh I betcha I can!" Fluke grinned, getting up and starting after her, laughing darkly but obviously fake dark laughing. He, upon looking at Dylindra, winked and smiled. 'Don't worry, hun. She'll be fine,' he wanted to tell her.

Dylindra didn't even seem to be looking in Fluke's direction, her eyes cast out towards the sea. It was something to look at, afterall. Something to think about.
The child grinned, continuing to run along - trying to keep as much distance between her and her father as possible.

Fluke could have easily caught up to the child but kept his distance, slowing down then put on an act of huffing and puffing. "O..k.. You... You win... I give up... I shall die here..." he said, then fell onto the sand, sticking his toungue out and closing his eyes. HE kept from breathing.

The girl slid to a stop, looking at him from a safe distance before calling to him. "Daddy?" Upon recieving no answer, she scuttled over to him - looking down at Fluke with worry in her eyes. "Daddy?"

Fluke's eyes popped open and he hugged his daughter tightly, ticking her. "Gotcha!!" He grinned and kissed her cheeks, nibbling at her shoulders then let her go. "Go run to mum, ok?"

After having to take a few deep breaths to calm herself down, the child grinnned. "Alright!" With that, she turned about and ran towards Dylindra. Upon throwing her arms around her mother, she fell silent for a momment. Then, turning to look at Fluke she shouted, "Mumma's eyes are leaking."

Fluke had this look of worry on his face as he just walked toward them. He took a sigh, sitting next to Dylindra. "Dee... we promised we wouldn't ruin it for her..." He whispered her her, his head down. "I know how you feel but... we can't let her feel bad about this, ok?" Fluke stroked her cheek and drew her chin up so he could look into her eyes. "We might see her again someday, and I will always love you as we both will always love and remember our first girl, right?" He asked, smiling a teeny bit. "Give me a smile, Dylindra. For her," he turned his head toward his daughter, smiling larger now.

Dylindra looked to him, face red and eyes filled to the brim with tears that threatened to continue their cascading motion down her cheeks. Her gaze then drifted to her daughter, the small child whos even smaller hands were placed delicatley on Dylindra's knees as the child tried to understand what was happening. Slowly a fake smile appeared on her face, and the child responded with a grin. "You fixed her, daddy!!" Running over to Fluke, the little girl threw her arms around him. "Now she's all better!"

"I can fix anything, sweetheart!" Fluke grinned, falling back and throwing his daughter a few inches into the air, catching her gently. "When you feel broken, come get me and I'll fix all your gears," he sat up and stood his daughter up straight, fingering her sides as a tickle. "Now I know I put that door somewhere! I have to clean out your gears! Where is that door?"

The girl began to laugh, trying desperatley to push Fluke's hands away. "No Daddy, no! That tickles!" Her laugheter became shrill, as it always seemed to do. "I don't have any doors on me, you silly goose!!"
With an ever growing smile, Dylindra pounced on the two of them - grasping her daughter's arms. "Come on, Fluke. Search better. If I hold her, you can search her."
The child continued to laugh and struggle, trying to wriggle from their grip. But soon, that laughter faded and her head slowly tipped to one side as she stared off down the beach- past Fluke's shoulder. "Hmm?"

Fluke paused, putting a hand on Dylindra's shoulder when the laughter stopped. He turned slowly, getting up onto his feet and putting his daughter behind his legs. He searched for what his child could have been looking at over his shoulder curiously but then again knew what was comming.
