the blair of a bugle blew in Adrian's small six-person cabin. Falling out of bed, Adrian groaned as Des chuckled, all decked out in her Commanding uniform. "C'mon, Adrian let's-" Des began, but was stopped by Adrian's interuption, "Don't call me that!" Des rolled her eyes. "Alright, Blue 15. Get up and let's get out. I'm giving you extra time, just so you can adjust to the way things were." Des said, then left to let Adrian unchange from her t-shirt and boxers.
Minutes later, Adrian was about to put a shirt on, having her pants, bra, and mostly everything else on when she realized how clean the t-shirt she'd worn to bed that night on her pillow along with the boxers. The shirt was Raz's the boxers were Fiinders... Adrian stared at them, a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach. "Gee Fiinder... if you were just faking it... my name would be fake too, huh? And Cole? He's immaginary?" She asked herself, standing there, holding the shirt of her uniform. "Why did I even keep these?" She asked herself, then thought about throwing them away. Immediately, she scolded herself, then took a deep breath, closing her eyes and sighing. In her mind, she immagined someone warm holding her, kissing her and telling her everything would be alright. But she knew better. Des, who was going to tell Adrian to hurry up, watched from the door, a soft, sympathetic look on her face and just left as quietly as she had come.
Adrian thought of the day Jamie came to visit her in this same cabin, where she lived alone. What Jamie had said made the impression that Fiinder's love for Adrian was fake. "No wonder he's so cold now.. I did this to him..." Adrian said, longing for someone to comfort her. But this was the army. They didn't do that often around here.
