A large winged creature flew above in mid-daylight. She looked like... Fox, sort of... except for the fact that Fox was rarely ever around. No, this girl had long black hair tied into two braids with red ribbon. As she landed, it became clear that she bore a sword that reflected her brown-red eyes. Her name? Despereaux, a friend and distant cousin of Robin's and Des'. She too was rarely seen unless something had happened to Des.
Fortunately, nothing HAD happened to Des... but it added to the confusion of Jill and Josie as to WHY Despereaux had just landed on their little model of a plane, crushing it.
"Auntie? What are you doing here?" Josie asked, standing up but was gently pushed aside as Despereaux passed.
Despereax entered into the main hall, looked up at all the stair cases, and shouted out, "Hear ye hear ye!! Will the Mistress of the house please come to call!!" Her voice echoed through the hallways, reaching each corner strongly. "I have come to beckon thee out of hiding once and for all!!" At this, she drew the sword.

A pair of red-pink eyes blinked at Despereaux from beyond a nearby corner, accompanied by locks of purpley-pink hair. Thistle leaned around the corner, staring at the girl whom she had only caught glimpses of before. "Wonder what she could could want...."
Thistle wasn't the only one seeming to wonder this, as many tiny fox head's poked through the rungs of the banister, staring down with curious looks, tilted head, and a few with annoyed twitches of ears and tails. The children all blinked, and odd sight to see as it traveled in wave; as if they were all set on corresponding internal timers.
The children were soon followed by Kale, who leaned over the banister with her own questioning look. In her arms she held a small child, not much older than a tiny baby, that was clung to her shirt and didn't seem to be letting go anytime soon. "Oh...Despereaux...What's up? Why're you here?"

Despereaux looked at Kale and momentarily smiled. "Ah! Kale! I didn't expect to see you here." Despereaux paused, realizing the house she was in and blushed of embarrassment. "Well, I did but this is where I sensed Des so... I came here to look for her."
Josie and Jill had followed inside, quizzically looking at Despereaux. Gush soon emerged somewhere in Alice's direction along with his brother Cole and sister Tiri. "Well, of course she's here." Tiri said. "She just was talking to Amos and then ran to the attic crying... but why do you need her? What's happened?"
Despereaux's smile faded. "She never told you, that's right..." She muttered, and looked up at Kale. "KAle's not the only thread of royalty around these parts. Robin is prince of the Western winds while I'm princess of the Eastern mountains. There's an unknown prince of the southern sun, and then there's a princess of the northern snow. Since we already know that the prince is a coyote, guess who the wolf princess' blood line comes down to?"

Kale blinked a few times, still holding tightly to the now fussing little boy. She seemed a little....lost for a second, taking a minute more than it would take a normal person to process such a thing. By the time the words, "You're joking, right?" had escaped her, the small fox children had already began to chitter-chatter amongst themselves, dodging in and out of the railings in an ectremley hyper manner. They seemed to find it amusing, not quite so much funny but more...exciting.
A small puff of blue-grey smoke appeared amongst the tiny bit of chaos made by the tiny foxes, and one of the middle aged children, a girl no older than 14 by the name of Fathom leaned on the railing, looking downward. "Whoopdie-doo, big suprise there. I don't see why this is a means for fuss. It's not that suprising really. Auntie Des does seem like the type fit to rule."

Despereaux nodded. "I'm surprised that Kale here is. Des DOES fit the profile, trying to teach you to accept your royal line when you were young and teaching you, Kale." She said, sighing. "Look, I'm tired of ruling more than my quarter. I'm here to tell Des to get off her royal ass and take this damned sword back!" Despereaux held up the sword.
"Never!!!" From a ceiling fan that had not been there before sat the one herself, glaring down in her pup form. "Never!!!" She cried again, spitting at Despereaux below.
Despereaux glared, wiping the drool from her forehead. "You little overgrown ball of contaminated mutant fur!!"

Kale looked up at Des, narrowing her eyes. "Hypocrit..." she muttered in annoyance, placing the small child at her feet. She then crossed her arms, leaningforeward against he railing but still gazed upwards.
Fathom laughed, looking up at Des. "Nice shot."

Des looked at Kale, smirking. "You've always known that I was a hypocrit, and I like the style I'm living in now. Moderate!" Des shot a glare down at Despereaux. "I'm no princess, you spoiled brat! You maybe like to live in castles, I don't."
"You built yourself one!!" Despereaux shouted back up.
Des' ears went back, tail bristling up. "Ok, that's one mistake. My house is big, but it's not as big as your filthy empty castle!!"

"That is ture, I have always known you were a hypocrit," Kale replied with a nod. "And her house isn't really a castle; There are plenty of houses bigger than hers. I can name three off the top of my head." This time, her words were directed towards Despereaux.

(Same... I'm having tofu...)
Despereaux looked to Kale, then to Des. "Des, take your stinkin land back! Robin and I are sick of taking care of it!" She yelled up at Des.
Des snickered. "You've been doing a good job for 306 years, why not another hundred?"
"THAT'S WHY YOU WERE KILLED!!!" Despereaux's screach echoed for a moment before Robin's voice was heard from the stairs behind Kale.
"That's not the full reason, but I did stumble into the Hunter's cave while looking for you to make you take your land." Robin said glumly, as if just woken up.

Kale perked up and glanced at Robin, her head tilted slightly to the side. "You sound like you just woke up..."
Meanwhile, Fathom seemed to be listening intently to the conversation unlike the other children, who upon feeling the conversations seriousness had ditched the scene to play outside instead. "Oh, the melodramatic life we live! Why has fate forsaken those of our kind?"
(Ew....-_- I just found out the weekend after nexty we're going to Georgia >-O How fun.)

(Oh boy.)
Robin nodded. "I was..." He said, yawning. He looked up at Des, blinking sleepily, then confusedly at Despereaux. "Ok, Desper, you have wings."
Desper blinked then nodded, taking off, up straight into the air and grabbed the unsuspecting Des' tail. Des eeped as she was thrown on the ground, and pinned down by a large boot under a long tight skirt. "Look! Let's do this right!" Desper took out her sword and handed the handle to Des' right hand. Like a magnet, Des' hand was drawn to it and stuck fast. "The Northern Princess is here to accept her rightful place willingly, isn't she?!" Desper's eyes glowed, as did Des'. Des glared, reluctant but couldn't help but say, "...y-yes... I am.."
"So she has said, so it is written!" Desper snapped, lifted her boot off of Des, and sighed. She'd only paused a moment before this loud sound like thunder interupted whatever she was going to say, and she looked down at her stomach. "Oh.... I'm hungry..."

Kale blinked a few times, her mouth opened slightly before she replied. "Obvisously." Her gaze then fell on Des for a few second before she returned her eyes to Despereaux. "I can show you the kitchen though there isn't really...very much in there anymore. I fired Fiinder as the house-hold chef because he buys too much expensive food. His son Rance cooks for us, sometimes, but I don't exactly trust the food he makes so..."
"So, what's she's saying is eat it at the possible cost of your life," Fathom finished for her mother.
Kale narrowed her eyes at Fathom, ears pressing back. "Why don't you go shove your head in a sink, you little sea-monkey?"
Fathom narrowed her eyes right back at her mother, crossing her arms. AFter a few seconds she turned and trudge off. "Fine then, I will."

Des was glaring at the ceiling. Why did Despereaux have to be stronger than her? Robin sighed, walked over to Des and patted her head. "You had it commin, Des." He said as sympethetically as he could.
Des growled, and he moved away, leaving her to lie there, sword in hand. Jill blinked, then grinned. "Does that make all of US royalty?!"
Despereaux shook her head. "Nope. The East and West need to have a child as does the North and South. See, because the Coyote hasn't been around here in YEARS, and you were born of a different father, you can't be full royalty. You're all mutts."

"That's a nice way to put it," Kale said, raising an eyebrow. "Well then, if we're all through here..." She waved, putting on a cute smile. "I'll be going back to taking care of the beasties." With that, she reached down and picked up her son, who had been starting to crowl away from her side to follow after the other children. "I don't think so, little man. You're due for a nap."

Des blinked, getting up and rushing over to KAle. "I'll do it!!" She said with a smile, reaching for the baby boy. "Please? I want to take care of them ever so much!" Des smiled that smile that was always hard for Keegan or any of her children to say no to. "Pleeeaaasse?"

Kale blinked a few times, but smiled none-the-less. "Alright. I know you love taking care of babies." Kale gently held the baby out to Des, and for a momment he seemed confused, glancing at his mother curiously. But, quickly, his attention turned to Des and he cooed sweetly, giving a tiny giggle afterwards.

Des cradled the young one in her arms, sighing and rubbing her nose against his forehead.
Despereaux, now standing behind Kale bent down and muttered, "If I EVER have a child, keep her away and shoot me." Then whispered, "You DO know she's just procrastinating her duties, right?"

Kale gave a slightly nervous laugh, rubbing the back of her head. "Yeah, I know. But I can't really blame her. I mean, I procrastinate too sooooooo," She looked over at Des, tipping her head off to the side. "I'm not like her, and I refuse to be a hypocrit."

"You DO know that she'll tear the north into ruins, right?" Despereaux said a little louder as Des was walking away, out of ear-shot. Des smiled at the child, purring at him and resting his hand against her vibrating throat. "Isn't it nice?" She asked, purring again.

The baby giggled, snuggling closer to Des with an almost toothless smile. It would seem that his first few teeth were already beginning to grow in, but it also didn't seem to be bothering him too much at the momment.
"Sooo? What do you want ME to do about it? I can't run my own little sludge-ball of a kingdom, how can you except me to tell her what to do?"
