Quietly, and without much attention focused on anything but the task at hand, Kale sat on the stripped wooden floor of one of the empty rooms down the abandoned hallway of her house. There was a good reason no one lived in this room. The draft. It was one of the closest to the outside, and had the flimsiest built walls. Not to mention the floor was one you'd expect to see in a barn. The wood was grey and splintered, large chunks sprouting up wards from the floor.
Placed on the floor in front of her were three clear glass bowls of ink; black, green, and red. Already she had used the ink to tattoo up most of her stomach. Yes, that was what she was doing. Tattooing thorned vines across her skin with a sewing needle. Oh, of course it hurt. Or, would have. If not for the numbing ointment she had discovered upon searching thru some of the store closets. Of course, being Kale she hadn't bothered to read any sort of directions off the container, and still neglected to do so as she reached down into the small tub and grabbed more of the gross goop. The goop in question had the consistency of wallpapering glue, only it was tinted green and gave off a noxious smell. Almost...like that of a text box left to rot in a school cellar for a few years before finally being opened again. Mixed with the scent of new textbooks, and sharpies.
Kale bit down on her lip to keep from gagging as she rubbed the ointment into the skin along her shoulder, already beginning to feel the skin numb on contact. It was clear that the shell of reserve she had built up after Nikx had died was finally cracking; to a seriously dangerous manner. She continued on her way tattooing the twisted vines and bloodied thorns along her collar bone, and it was clear she had done this before. The way she did it with such ease and preciseness clearly showed this.
Kale continued to focus souly on the continuation of the main vine she had begun tattooing just above her heart, seeming to not mind the chill in the room. Or the blood that coursed down her front. Or the fact she sat there in only jeans and a bra as she tattooed her skin. After all, it wasn't like anyone was coming to find her. None of her kids wanted to go anywhere near her, anyways. Not after the way she acted to wards them this morning. So, she was safe. And Alone. And no one would come to find her. Right?
