It was still early in the afternoon, the sun beginning to peek out behind morning clouds and just beginning to warm up the air. After all, it was December, even if it had only jut begun One would expect mornings and evenings to hold a chill to them, if not be all together freezing. Even though the sunbeams had only just began to break thru their cloudy prison, it was already quite warm today. Not rainy, or snowy. But not necessarily summertime go jump in a pond sort of weather.
Darla, having been sick of being inside so much, lay sprawled out in the grass, looking as if she were trying to fall asleep. Being indoors for so long had, literally, been driving her crazy. After all, she was more used to racing and being an all around daredevil. Sitting around bored all day didn't exactly measure up to that. For a while completely demolishing cars on Burnout 3 had sufficed, but even that can get monotonous. Even if the graphics were so well put together that it was almost exactly like really going out an demolishing cars during an illegal race thru the city.
Which was why she was outside...taking...a...nap. Well, it really didn't solve much of anything, but if she had gone thru with her original plan of bungee-jumping off the roof, there was a 99.9% chance of someone stopping her from doing so. Which would, again, not solve anything but make matters worse. She didn't want to be under lock and key. That would REALLY suck.
She was startled out of her thoughts as something pounced on her stomach, causing to bolt up right and groan. Opening one eye, Darla glanced down at her son, who only grin back at her. Oh boy, what a menace he was. It didn't matter if he chose to be the age of 2 or 12, he still managed to cause trouble. Ren, she thought as he scuttled off again to chase after something the had moved in the grass, was very...well...barbaric. Sort of. 7 out of 10 times he was acting more like an animal than acting like he was partially human. In his younger forms he had the tendency not to speak, but instead find other means of getting what he wanted. Which normally included snarling, kicking, clawing, and worst of all biting. Darla chuckled slight to herself as she laid back down, closing her eyes again. He was actually a pretty cute kid, when he kept those spikes inside his body instead of out. His hair was a very pale color, lighter than her own and only existed in light airy puffs that seemed to merge together as hair tends to do. She could never really get him into any nice clothes, and if she did they were torn up or stained within three minutes of her accomplishment.
A moment later Ren came scurrying back to her side, curling up beside her an whimpering like something had scared him. Darla simply chuckled again, not bothering to open her eyes this time, figuring he'd stupidly swallowed a bug or gotten stung by a bee. Or something that wasn't anything serious. "Aww, what's up kiddo?" She questioned, folding her arms behind her head. "What's gotten you all worked up?"
