Josie smiled weakly, her tail moved slightly in an atempt to wag, then she relaxed all her muscles.

Kale kept her gaze on Josie as she ran. For a momment she thought of pulling hte dagger out, then thought better of it. It's placement probably slowed the blood flow significatly. At least, it seemed that way. Her thoughts were cut off suddenly as she slammed into something hard, causing her to fall backwards and drop Josie.

Josie fell to the ground limply, and moaned in pain. "What happened..."

Kale's hand was up over her face, rubbing it gently. "I ran into something, and I can't see straight. What the hell is it that I hit?!"

*Alert, deep purple eyes gaze down at the pair from up in the limbs of the tree that Kale had just smacked in to.... Aedra remains silent, unmoving, a quiet observer for the time being.... the little one... the one in wolf pup form.... she was in a shifted form... Aedra could smell it, practically feel the energy from the shift vibrating through her blood... and the wolf pup girl was also injured.... how perfectly amusing... still, was this pair to be prey, or not? Intriguing question.... or perhaps... companions for a brief time? After all... the girl apparently knows how to shift, and though it was a fascinating talent, it was not one that Aedra herself had ever possessed.... sometimes, though, she could learn a new skill by observation... and while she doubted she could figure this one out, it might jsut be worth it to try... besides, if observation didn't help, she may still be able to find one of the dark arts that related to shifting and master it.... she watches from her tree limb, still hesitant with indescicion, and still well aware of the fact that she's still in the demon forest, an area that would make the two females less than trustful of a dark figure such as herself....*

Josie moaned, her tail fur bristling. "A tree, I think... Mum...?" Josie looked up, at the branches above, thinking she heard something.
Then, within an instant, Gush stood there, shirtless as usual and with baggy jeans. "Josie, Autn Kale... What happened? Please, act quickly and follow the path right there.." He pointed to Cole, standing in a clearing. Gush looked around, sinsing Aedra's aura. "Someoen's watching..."

Kale looked up at Gush. "Huh?" She didn't react as quickly as she should have. She was stilling sitting on the ground, almsot reluctant to stand up.

((just a note, italics=Aedra's thoughts))
Well, bugger... now I either act or lose the chance to try and figure this one's talent out....
*Aedra hops nimbly down from her tree limb, landing lightly on her feet, the hood of her cloak falling back to show off her black and purple hair, as well as her numerous ear piercings and partially scaled face.... she tilts her head faintly, looking at the three...*
Aedra> You really should remove that knife from her leg... if you bind it properly, she won't bleed out from the wound, even with the knife removed.
*Her voice is calm, almost soothing, but there's also a tinge of sarcasm there that, while inoffensive, would be hard to miss. Still, her presence, staff and all, isn't overly threatening... she has a way of looking unintimidating... her cloak is back enough that her actual figure can be seen, and the most frightening thing about her, for the moment, is her eyes... they have the look of a predator... cold and completely unconcerned*

Gush turned, looking at Aedra, and his glare lowered to a look of slight curiousity. He shrugged. "I do things differently... now, Josie," He said, turnign to his little sister lying on the ground. "Stay calm..." He muttered, kneeling, and placing a hand on her leg. Slowly, the bleeding stopped, and he pulled the dagger out slowly as the blood either disappeared or went back into the wound before it was fully healed.
Josie morhped back to her normal form as Cole came running to help her walk.

Ryth, currently transparent sience Ryu was sleeping in the tree, observed the dragon-like person down below, not concered with what else was happening. The reason the branch was'nt snapping beneath the wiegt of both of them was that he was weightless in this form, as he was merely a projection from Ryu's mind.

I feel you there.... I don't know you... I can't see you, but I feel you watching me.... are you guarding these weaklings from becoming prey, perhaps? Or... are you just curious? Whatever your motives, avache, I will eventually find you.... And I'll eventually know why you've taken my role as the watcher....
Aedra> Quite impressive. I've never been much of a healer, so excuse the fact that I didn't think of such a solution to start off with.
*She gives a slight bow, her hands tucking into the opposing sleeves of her robe, giving the illusion of her hands vanishing altogether within the robe, and making the robe fall back forward to hide her figure... she looks at them calmly, her face still more or less expressionless...*
Aedra> Forgive me if my curiosity offends, but what was such a defenseless one doing in this part of the forest? It is not a safe place to be, a lot of the time, and I assume she didn't grow up in a forest such as this, the way I did.
*she's quite clever... she's covered her reasons for being in a forest by simply bringing up that she grew up in a similar forest, giving her mroe than enough reason to seek shelter in a forest, she's also brought in a way for conversation to start, thus giving her the chance at forming some sense of companionship with them, and maybe earning herself a chance to observe the shape shifters...*

Ryth became as solid as he could before diving down, gliding in a circle twice before getting close enough to land. "Just curious. The one who allows me to exist might protect them." He replied. "In my completly solid form, I'm defenceless without the element of surpriese. So you could call me defenseless as well."

Stay out of my mind.
*Aedra gives a half smile to Ryth, a contrast to the mental hiss she'd shot his way, showing one almost fang in the process, seemingly on purpose... *
Aedra> I should certainly hope someone would protect them. These woods are, as I've said, less than hospitable.
*her eyes retain that cold, distanced look despite the smile.... her mind has turned into a formidable wall... clearly she has had some minor instruction in the art of dealing with pyschic intrusions on her thoughts.... she has a sharp intellect, to be sure, but she also demands the privacy of her mind... the main impression of her mind now is an intense wave of hostility directed at the psychic talents of Ryth...*

"You've mistaken my kin for weaklings..." A husky voice said form behind Aedra. A large white wolf walked around her, sniffing before morphing to her normal form. Long, brown hair, two white wolf ears, a white tail, pale skin and bright green eyes. Des smirked. "Sure, I know this forest very well. I grew up here mostly, spent some of my ghost time here. My kin don't know as much for they have always been protected by me and Josie's... well, Josie's one of the little ones. She's notmuch of a fighter and is frightened easily.."
"Josie nodded to Kale. "I'm fine, now."

Aedra> Forgive the mistake.
*Her eyes have gone from cold to almost dead and lifeless... there's no change in her posture, and anyone who didn't know her well would never have noticed the change in her eyes.... she shifts her staff slightly, still cradled in the crook of one arm, and scans those strange purple eyes across the entire group*
Aedra> Quite a group... is the area beyond the edge of this forest so populated that such a gathering would show up here this way?
*she's made no offer of her name, nor has she asked for the name of any of the people who stand near her... even in the midst of this group, she seems to stand a bit apart... an outsider....*

Des shrugged."Well, there's my house, about half a mile long, half mile wide. That's a long walk. An even longer walk is Kale's house. Then there are the cities, and the army base camp. If you grew up in this forest, you must have visited the Thicket Forest area at all?" Des tilted her head, very curious about this new girl. Her eyes grew brighter as she mentally asked for the girl's name. ~Please, let me know your name fair maiden?~

*Steely purples eyes turn on Des, the response to her mental question rippling into the forefront of Aedra's mind, but the odd thing is that it is accompanied by the feeling of crushing weight pressing on anyone who happened to be open to her response... the weight was reminiscent of dark, cold soil... Aedra had ways of making it plain that intrusion into her mind was unwelcome, at the very least...*
I am Agaedra Melianthos, of the Darkenmyre Forest Shanriels.
*Her answer supplied, the shields she'd set up in response to Ryth come crashing even harder into place around her mind.... most mental shields are more metallic feeling, but this one... Aedra's metal shields have the feel of the darker parts of a forest to them... the rich natural feeling... and the coldness of damp, dark soil.... just as the weight of her mental response had to it.... *
Aedra> I grew up in a forest similar to this, but not this specific one. My homeland, too, was haunted by demon hunters and other nasty creatures. I've been traveling for some time now, and this forest reminded me of home, so I've been lingering here for the past several days.

Ryth did not read her mind any more, as once was enough, especialy to a creature that was not native to either his planet nor this one. There were no such thing as demon hunters on his planet, although there where things that looked like them, although they could not shapeshift. They where called Wraiths, which sucked the life out of creatures, making them age until they died. It was'nt a painful expereince, however, sience they had anesthetics in their arms, and they used their claws to dig in the area above their victim's hearts to drain the life out of them. Ryth remained silent, again becoming transparent.
