"Don't worry. I'll get you to land right away!" Fluke said in all seriousness. He kicked as hard as he could, maintaining a balance on the top of the swell then just let the two bodies ride the wave towards the sand.

"Just...just make it quick," Dylindra responded, her eyes locking upon a shadow in the water. God, of every creature in the world she loved, there was only one she hated with a vengence. Orcas. And with good reason too.

Fluke caught her stare and looked to where she was looking. His eyes grew wide and he let go of her, yelling, "Keep kicking!!" while he stopped kicking, diving under the water.

"Fluke!" She shrieked, halting all motion. Her own eyes grew wider than before as she followed him below the waves - apparently not wanting to leave his side. And, obviously, not wanting him eaten alive by a whale.

Fluke stood on the bottom of the water, a harpoon in his hands. He had it aimed and ready to fire, standing his ground. Burrying his feet under the sand so he wouldn't move with the tide too much. Holding the large Harpoon gun steady, he seemed to wait for anything dangerous to appear before him.

The shadowed figure of a creature- not aparticularly huge and yet not really small- appeared in the water; rushing towards Fluke at high speeds.
Dylindra placed her hand on his shoulder suddenly, her eyes full of curiosity and worry.

Fluke's eyes widened and he spun the top half of his body around. Pushing Dylindra away, he pointed toward the land, telling her to go and hurriedly before turning around to face the shadow, just wanting to make sure ti was a whale.

Dylindra was pushed back, and she blinked at him a few times before getting the message. Reluctantly, she turned her back to him, swimming towards the shore. Upon reaching the edge of the water, she immediatley turned to watch the waters for any sign of...well...anything.
The figure dwelt closer; it's black and white body beginning to materialize from the gloom. Oh yeah, definatley a whale. And one that seemed hungry at that.

'Closer you bastard... this harpoon won't get much milage when you're that far away... c'mon.. pure bread selkie just waiting for a bite here...' Fluke said, taunting the whale or trying to.

The whale seemed to hear him, as it sped up considerably; almost at a full charge. It's eyes, which normally would have been a dark color, seemed to hold an almost wicked glow to them.

Fluke waited until he could see the eyes clearly before shooting this three-pronged harpoon right at the brain of the whale. All he could do now was wait and see what would happen.

The harpoon apparently hit mark, as a loud shrieking noise came from the whale. The water around it instantly became thick with blood that oozed from it's brain cavity; as the whale itself fell limp.

Fluke shook his head, thinking, 'silly whale.. selkies are for kids..' and lifted his feet out of the muddy sand. Reaching the surface, he caught the next wave and rode it to the beach. Standing up, he shook the water from his hair, slicking it back and arching his back as if to stretch.

Oddly enough, Dylindra wasn't there to greet him. Or...at least not by the waters edge where she'd been a momment before. Now, this was odd. As, she most likely would have been there to throw her arms around him; most likely start sobbing about how stupid he was for doing something so foolish. But...she wasn't there to do such a thing.

Fluke sighed, walking over to where they had put her clothes. "Serves me right... I shoulda known girls don't like the brave type... Probably ran off thinking I was dead..." HE sighed, running his fingers through his hair and picked up his pants.

"Aww, now why would you think that?" The voice that spoke these words was not the voice of Dylindra, but a deeper more sinsiter voice. A shadowed figure shifted foreward from it's position - leaning casually against the rocks. It's hand - black like the sky itself, was wrapped firmly around the mouth of a pale, shuddering figure. Dylindra.
Dylindra looked to Fluke, her eyes seeming to tell him to run while he could. She was shaking badly, and was soaked - still naked save for her seal skin wrapped tightly around her upper half.

Fluke glared and rushed forward yelling at the figure, "Let her go!"

The figure seemed to smirk, side-stepping out of Fluke's path. "Now now, calm down my little friend. You wouldn't want to hurt your girlfriend by mistake, now would you?"

"As long as it means that I get to hurt you in the process I'll do what I have to!" Fluke yelled, growling. "I'll harpoon you if I have to!" He snarled, glaring at the figure. "Who are you?!"

"Well, that's of no importance. All you need to know is that I'm here for you skins," the figure replied, the slightest show of a smirk able to be made out on it's face. "And I might as well take your little girlfriend. I hear Selkie Women make excellent wives."
